Players Code of Conduct



I recognize that playing for the South Westchester Hockey Club (“SWHC”) as a Blackhawks, Raiders or Lady Raiders player is a privilege. As a representative of my community and my team, I agree to the following Code of Conduct:

1. Dedication & Sportsmanship

• Commitment: I will arrive on time, work hard to improve my skills, and play for the fun of the game. I will strive to give 100% effort at each practice and game.
• Rules of Play: I will learn and play by the rules of hockey and the regulations set by USA Hockey.
• Grace in Competition: I will be a team player, winning with humility and losing with dignity. I will show respect to my opponents regardless of the score. I will not taunt players, parents, spectators, facility employees, coaches, or officials.

2. Respect & Integrity

• Respect: I will respect my coaches, parents, facility employees, spectators, officials and opponents. I will never argue with a coach’s or official’s decision.
• Professionalism: I will not use profanity or abusive language in the rink, on the bench, in the locker room, or at any team or organizational function.
• Supportive Environment: I will encourage my teammates and refrain from any behavior that creates a negative atmosphere.

3. Safety & Modern Conduct

• Zero Tolerance for Bullying: I will not engage in bullying, hazing, or any form of harassment, whether in person or online (e.g., on social media).
• Locker Room Privacy: I will respect the privacy of my teammates and adhere to all team rules regarding cell phone and camera use in locker rooms.
• Equipment & Facilities: I will not throw equipment and will treat all rinks and facilities with respect.
• Substance Policy: I will not use alcohol, tobacco, or any illegal substances.

4. Accountability

I understand that I always represent the SWHC, including at away games and tournaments. I agree to abide by these rules and understand that any violations will make me subject to disciplinary action, which may include suspension or removal from the program.

The Board of Directors of the South Westchester Hockey Club will deal with unacceptable conduct at its sole discretion, imposing warnings, suspension or expulsion as it deems appropriate. ANY SUSPENSION OR EXPULSION BASED ON VIOLATIONS OF THE CODE OF CONDUCT WILL NOT BE ACCOMPANIED BY ANY REFUND.
